woah Aman, and Vertical Chill!
Mr.Vivek is not the right person. Aman, i should punch your lights out.
i said that the costs are on the higher side, and the production are on the lowest side
Aman, i am targeting about 170 tons. so why does 40 ton sound unachievable ? i have crossed 20 tons in 136 days (35% life)
and you are very true, that such figures maynot show in the initial years, as we are learn the crop. and they come at a very high price (not money, but involvement and devotion)
Vivek
Vertical,
what variety are you considering? there are red yellow capsicum seeds for PH, which are for about Re 1.
rest all figure look good and in place.
crop rotation…umm… i have heard a lot myself too. but this is my 3rd crop on the same PH, on the same beds, in the same soil.
i just add basal dose once in about every 3 months or so.
Vivek
latest developments in my capsicum plot.
bed preparation done and seedlings are at this age. refer the pic.
comment.

Hey Mr.Narasimha,
High NPK - 200 Kg @ Rs 12
High Potash - 200 kg @ Rs 10
Karanj Cake - 500 kg @ Rs 5
Neem Cake - 500 kg @ Rs 4
Castor Cake - 200 kg @ Rs 7
Manure (cow dung) (3 Brass) - 25 trolleys @ Rs 4400
Red Soil - 35 trucks (4 Brass) @ Rs 3500
Rice Husk - 1000 kg @ Rs 30
Poita - 35 trucks @ Rs 6000
Rotor for mixing all this - Rs 1300
Bed Preparation - Rs 20,000
then there were 10x26x25, magnesium, sulphur, and some micronutrients, which hardly cost anything. u can add another 5000 for all these.
i dont have good quality soil on my land, so had to get all this.
Vivek
Aman,
start working on the support system along with buddy.
do it till you have time and the plantation is not done.
hope you are planning accordingly.
i m mad at you, so i am not talking to you now ![]()
Vivek
mad at me ?
why
Aman,
u know what i mean.
well… i am still stuck with fungus problem. then on top of that i have new developments of chewing pests.
for indra, the plantation is delayed as the support system was not in place. tmrw i’ll shift the plants into the PH, and hopefully day after would be plantation.
i’ve become very lazy lately, and daily in the morning i plan to take corrective sprays for the problems, but i end up doing something totally else the whole day.
hopefully tmrw would be a different day.
Vivek
Thanks for your kind reply Mr.vivek , I am planing for the same variety as what you had mentioned but here in the nursery a 40 days old sapling cost Rs.5 .
Dear All:
Just need quick opinion. I have small polyhouse setup near wardha were I am experienting Bindi, Tomato etc.
Now, I am planing to plant Capsicum (Syngenta - Indra). If I start the seedling this week. It will ready for planting on Jan 3-4th week.
March onward we have the high temp in vidharbha region. Do you think it’s advisible to plant Capsicum this late in the season?
I heard that in high temp flowers will dropout and fruits will not materilize. Looking for your valuable inputs and feedback.
Thanks viks, aman, vertical, narsimha and all for making this most exsiting forum thread on farmnest.
Happy Farming!
Rs. 4 per plant???
Something is not right, you have to check again. Even watermelon seedlings cost Rs. 2 per seedling where just the seed cost is Rs. 1.
Nikhil
Normal green capsicum saplings are costing 150 a tray (98 cells) and for color capsicum they charge 500 . infact some charge even 700 ![]()
hey viks and everyone.
i was searching for a good support system for my plants, and i came through some of the types of hooks that are being used.
i am little confused about something, it would be great if you could clarify
traditional method - where GI wires are used to support the whole system. then polyester threads are hung for each plants. plants are tied with gunny threads at regular intervals.
latest method - GI wires are used to the support the whole system (same as above), but then different hooks are used (pictures attached) where i think instead of tying the plants with gunny thread, the hook is raised to lift the plant and hence the plant remains in upright position.
M i correct
correct me if m wrong,
Aman
hello vertical
sorry for yesterday’s behavior. i know it was inappropriate,
all the best for your future endeavors.
Aman
hello everyone
My capsicum seedling as on date.
Are they ready to be put on beds ![]()
comment on its health !!!
thank you
Aman
hey vertical,
i m sure whn u start ur farm, u’ll name it vertical.
well rs 5/ color capsicum plant, ummm… wat variety?
syngenta is 90 paisa and namdhari is expensive. and if syngenta, rs 4 is very high for germination and growing for 20-40 days.
i too feel something is not right. plz check the variety the nursery is offering.
Vivek
hey Aman,
can u give the price of the rollers/hooks?
today morning only i was discussing with my father, the auto rewind system unit i had planned is costing me Rs4 /unit
so 16000 plants x 3 support units x rs 4= rs 1,92,000
tats my one time cost. but my fathers point was tat if i put the same 192000 in bank for 6% intrest i get about 11000 rs.
whereas my actual labor cost is rs 8000 for manual (traditional method) support.
he sure has a point.
in international laws, there is a clause for ‘responsibility towards society’. so now i am thinking again.
as long as we r discussing international laws, is anyone claiming carbon credits?
the little baby plants look young. the leaves and root zone also. give them a weeks time more.
and i just noticed ur palm, man… ur stars look bright with capsicum.
hope its ur palm only.
Vivek
yep thats me
but even if we don’t go for auto rewind system, we can at least go for normal hooks where we can just curl the thread that has become loose due to growth in plant’s height.
what say ?
and was i right about my guess ? the hooks are used in the same way, right ?
Aman, i too clicked some pictures of the support system for the ph with cross beds and gutters (carnation setup)
i m using the traditional support method, using two color threads for suport. and the knot is such that if u pull, say the white thread, the pink strings tension can be adjusted.
i use the knot everytime, but till now wat happened tat half the time i would end up pulling the wrong string and break the shoot. hence the color coding this time.
too lazy to convert and upload the pictures now.
calling it a day now.
Vivek
thats exactly the same setup but more economical
do post some pictures
i will get the rates tomorrow.
i have seen people doing it the traditional way, where they keep tying the plant with main string using gunny thread as the plant’s height increases.
