Instead of feeding the WSF through drip, can we manually apply to the each roots directly? Let us say we have 8000 tomato plants per acre and we just drop 80ml of diluted stock solution to each plants manually. Is that an efficient method?
What is the best time to apply WSF? Early in the morning?
What is the water schedule for the Hybrid Tomato’s? How many litres per plant through drip?
you can pour nutrient solution directly to the roots if and when you have enough labour force for this kind of work
Water requirement varies in tune with growth stage of plants , soil type and prevailing weather condition .The drip guy will tell you the way how to water the plants .He will fix it based on the disharge capcity of emitters , spacing of emitters along the lareral drip line , numer lateral line used per crop row etc …Genedally water requiremnt of crop keeps increasing right through transplanting ( early establishment period ) , vegetative growh , flowering and peak harvest of fruts .The level of water requirement goes from 2-5 lit per plant to as much as 8 - 10 lit per plant per day or 15-20 lit water per square meter of wetting area
Thank you for the quick response. I was thinking of this direct pouring of nutrient solution because I’m afraid if plants will get the correct and equal amount when done via Venturi. For e.g.: If I have 4000 tomato plants, as per your guidance the ratio is 1:5 which means that 5 kg of Urea will be mixed with 25 litres of water to make stock solution. Now for sure this 25 litres will be less sufficient amount to distribute to 4000 plants without dilution. How much of dilution can be made? and how to make sure the Venturi supplies equally?
Just to keep the cost down, I trying my hands on with KSNM drips so I need to do the calculation of water requirements myself. Of course I need your help on this. Variety is Arka Rakshak and can you give a rough numbers on how much water to supply at different stages via drip?
STOCK SOLUTION IS TO GET MIXED AGAIN IN 50 LIT WATER THAT IS FED TO VENTURY .YOU WILL HAVE TO REGULATE THE FLOW OR SET THE SUCTION RATE OF VENTURY TO ENSURE UNIFORM DELIVERY OF NUTRIENT TO ALL THE PLANTS…YOU BETTER CONSULT DRIP GUY THAT WILL GUIDE YOU ON THIS .
