Borewell: add clay to bottom of pipe to block unsuitable water?

Continuing the discussion from Borewell - Common Problems & Solutions Guide:

My bore is 180 feet deep.
We used 5 plain pipe in the top and all remaining bottom pipes are slotted. The water parameter after 150 feet are not suitable, can I now add clay inside the pipe for 30 feet so the slots below 150 feet get blocked.
Is there any possibility, please help me out sir.

Add bentonite pellets instead of clay, that would completely seal the bottom 30 feet.
