How much investment is necessary to start a small scale goat farm with 50 goats …stall fed method in erode ,tamilnadu

I’ll give you minimum requirements. Calculate the cost based on your location.

  1. Land : for stall, about 30x50 feet with 6 divisions + about 200 sq feet calving area.

  2. Land: for fodder 1-2 acres.

  3. Fodder seeds + fertilizer.

  4. Goats: Parent Stock - 50 Goats (about 7K each) + 2-3 males (about 1700/kg for Sihori, Beetal. about 50-70K for boer)

  5. Fodder requirements (per goat): Approx 5 kg green + 1 kg hay + 500 gm concentrate

  6. 5 vaccinations per year per goat.

  7. Medicines in case of FMD, brucella, etc.

  8. Vet fees of about 5K per month.

  9. 1 labor: 6K/month
