Salicornia brachiate – common English name is : Glasswort or Sea asparagus
It is a salt-marsh succulent plant , exhibits robust growth and anatomical adaptations in saline agricultural soils.
These Salicornia stems are edible and consumed in Europe as fresh vegetable and with Biotechnology these plant parts can be converted into edible green edible salt with low sodium content .
If anyone having agriculture lands with high salinity , unfit for conventional agriculture, they can cultivate Salicornia brachiate for commercial gain .
