I am looking to procure high-quality ginger seed rhizomes for commercial cultivation on 1 acre of agricultural land.

Requirements:

  • Suitable for high-yield commercial cultivation
  • Preference for residue-free or organically grown seed rhizomes.

Preferred Varieties:

  • Rio-de-Janeiro
  • IISR Vajra

Sir ,Have you done your soil health card of top soil & sub soil ? Ginger is nowadays cultivated in open fields and bags ? What is your preferred cultivation type ? Vajra, Rio de Janeiro varieties are suitable varieties for Kerala agro climatic conditions . Monsoon has also arrived in Kerala , May is the planting season ,still you can check with IIHR- Calicut or Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode,
Kerala for certified rhizomes if they have available stock .

for soil less cultivation (using cocopeat, Verimicompost)

alredy check with IISR Kozhikode, they dont have rhizomes.

Sir ,No other alternative to source certified mother rhizomes from other sources . Kerala being a spice condiment cultivation hub , lots of farmers started soil less ginger cultivation ..so the demand is high and mostly pre-booked . National Seed Corporation also sells certified seeds and rhizomes , you can check . Usually mother rhizomes are sold in the month of Dec - Jan .Ginger Harvesting time .
