Hi,

I am interested to start a Tissue culture Lab / Farm, especially for Banana varieties like Elachi, Nethera, G9. Looking for a consultnat or expert, to support our project.

Thank you

venki

Hi
Already Bio tech lab tried to produce TC banana plants in all the banana varieties .It is found successful only in G9 . However your attempt in producing TC banana plants are appreciated since there seems to be vast scope existing for select banana varieties in domestic as well as international market

Hi,

Let me get good reference , who can do a consultant role for this porject.

venki

I will speak to biotech dept in TNAU about this subject and let you know

Dear Sri Venki,

Already so many Tissue Culture Banana Labs are producing Elachi Banana( Yelakki banana ) TC plants, Nendran Variety TC banana plants, like SPIC, Coimbattore, Gugle Tissue banana Labs, Devanahalli, Horticulture dept of Karnataka in their Hulimavu TC lab etc.

As per the gathered information, G9 banana tissue culture results will be very good and the success rate in other varieties is little less and much time consuming it seems and that is the reason, very few TC labs are doing other variety bananas, except G9 variety.

There are even experts like 1. Dr Veera Reddy of AG biotek, Hyderabad with 25 yrs of TC banana and other plants, available on 09848025050, 2. Dr Ajay Kumar Gupta of MM university, Haryana, avilable on 09017229249 , etc. You can also contact Dept of Biotecnology, IARI, Pusa, New Delhi etc. They do consultancy on request and as per their and mutually agreed terms.

Tissue culture Industry is a well developping activity from past 30 years and it will have its charm for more than some decades.

with best wishes, g.p.rao, farmer
