I am not sure if seed treatment was done in the yesteryears. But it is better to err on the safe side.
Simply dipping the seeds / roots of the seedlings in Panchagavya / Bijamrutham / Amudha Karaisal / Amrut Paani etc would help the young plants fight against fungus related diseases.
