I am looking to plant nutmeg in my farm, I have some questions on the maintainance and harvest and will be great if members can pitch in.
I stay away from the farm, and I dont have anyone staying at the farm for daily activities. Half of the farm is coffee and pepper, so it is pretty low maintainance at this point.
Since I cant be involved daily, how frequent is the plucking for nutmeg. Can it happen once a week? Once in 2 weeks will be best for my situation.
Will the nutmeg fall off and rot if not picked in time?
What is the peak harvest season, I have been told it yields all year. It will be infeasible if it needs frequent harvest.
I am trying to assess feasibility before planting as I am looking for kind of low maintainance options for the farm.
