New Farmer Exploring Colored Capsicum – Need Guidance & Contacts

Hello everyone! :waving_hand:

I’m new to this group – joining in from Hyderabad, Telangana. I’m planning to start growing exotic vegetables on my farm, beginning with colored capsicum as a pilot.

I’ve already started doing some groundwork and documenting the process, but I would really appreciate your guidance and help with a few questions I have:

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: 1. Training Institutes (around hyderabad or elsewhere):
I’ve heard there are some reputed institutes in Pune that offer training related to polyhouse farming and exotic vegetables.

  • Can someone please share the contact details, training cost, and your experiences if you’ve attended?

:house_with_garden: 2. Farm Visits (Hyderabad/Telangana/AP):
Any members here who are already growing capsicum in polyhouses around Hyderabad, Telangana, or Andhra Pradesh?

  • Would love to visit your farm and learn from your setup – happy to coordinate on time/logistics.

:package: 3. Post-Harvest Marketing & Sales:
I’m trying to understand the sales model:

  • Do sapling suppliers offer any buy-back arrangements?
  • If yes, how do they calculate payment per kg?
  • What price range can we expect when selling directly to wholesale markets in metros?

I’m very excited to start this journey and looking forward to exchanging knowledge and experiences with all of you. Appreciate any help, contacts, or tips you can share. :folded_hands:

Being an agroforestry enterprise , we can clarify your post harvest forward linkage issue ..
Without a legal business entity ( GST /MSME ) you can only sell your produces to commission agents in the fresh vegetable market …but not eligible to sell Industrial catering , Corporate kitchens , Cloud kitchens , HoReCa clients and delivery aggregators ( Blinkit / Bigbasket / Swiggy etc. )
The prominent exotic vegetables consumed in India are mushroom buttons, sweet corn, broccoli, red cabbage, zucchini, lettuce, asparagus, bell capsicum , celery , parsley , lettuce and cherry tomatoes , but some fresh vegetables are highly demanding but lacks year round supply chain are spring onion , scallion , chives ,coriander leaves , mint leaves . Leafy green vegetables are consumer market is much bigger and wider than handful exotic vegetables .
In farm solar cold storage is mandatory if you are dealing with perishable fresh vegetables . Probiotic preserved vegetables ( pickled vegetable in brine ) will expand your consumer market landscape with an USP ..
