Neem not growing

In the remote village near Jawhar in Maharashtra, someone told me Neem trees don’t grow here. I saw and noticed, neem, though very common all over India, is not present there,
I gave a villager a neem tree sapling. After a few months enquired. He said the sapling didn’t survive…

What could be the cause? I have seen Neem growing in various soil and climate conditions.

The village has lots of mango, Mahua, Palash, Bombax ceiba etc

Neem ( Azadirachta indica ) tree is noted for its drought resistance. Normally it thrives in areas with sub-arid to sub-humid conditions . Neem is propagated by seed, cuttings and root suckers but seed is the most viable and natural method of propagation i.e. birds consumes whole ripe neem fruits and drops neem seed which reproduce naturally .

Let me inquire and get back to you.

Try Planting Neem tree just before Rainy season.
After planting the neem, daily go to visit “HIM” and check “HIS” status.
“He” will surely survive.
