Murrah is one of the best buffalo breeds of the world. The home tract of Murrah buffalo is Rohtak and Hisar districts of Haryana in India…Murrah buffaloes are also is also found in punjab state of India & Punjab province of pakistan.This breed is known for good milk production with high butter fat content.Many developing countries are using this breed extensively to upgrade their local breeds. I have uploaded a video of a murrah dairy farm located at NDRI Karnal. Open yard system of housing is preferred for buffalo farming.In this dairy farm open yard system of housing has been adopted. The Dairy looks very well maintained in the video.

Do they keep the Buffaloes in open all year round? even during the night?
There is a shed visible in the background, is it used for the Animals?
how about bathing the Buffaloes?

In open yard housing system animals are kept loose except during milking and at the time of treatment. Animals take rest under covered space during hot weather rain, at night & during other adverse climatic conditions. Pipe water supply can be provided to the shed for bathing of animals. Sprinklers are also provided in open yard housing system to keep animal cool during summer

Another question, can we have a low cost Shed made of Straw with a plastic film cover. something like a Hut (jhopdi).
and need your valuable suggestion for the floor too.

You can keep your buffaloes in low cost thatched house. There in no need to cover it with polythene.
