I am looking to setup a dairy farm of 50 cows in 6 Acre land and would need your suggestion on low cost shelter design and breed to be selected for dairy.
Is it better to chose Desi cows or HF cows??

As far as the Cow breed is considered Central / State government AH department is promoting Indigenous cattle breeds ( Gir , Sahiwal , Ongole and 40 other indigenous species due to growing demand for A2 Milk and Ghee . For this purpose you can get more info from Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF)/ Agriculture Infrastructure Fund ( AIF ) / GOBARDHAN portals . If you can manage to market you own dairy products to consumers then go for A2 categry or Indigenous cattle breeds Western cheese processing is also new trend in India if you ghave own processing unit under Ministry of Food Processing scheme .
