If Son has 7/12 in his name can father purchase agricultural land in Maharastra?

If son owns a farm land and has a 7/12 extract with his name, can his father buy agricultural land in Maharashtra?

In Maharashtra, if a close relative is a farmer then you can buy agricultural land. If a father is a farmer then son can buy land. This is what I read in the forum. But does the reverse apply?

    one general question, does son proved his claim to be farmer while buying land through paternal or maternal heridity ?
If used paternal heridity then he  already posses documents for father to be proved as farmer.

Else one simple solution, if father is retired or  not in any government job and he worked as laborer (Shet majoor) for for certain years he can claim to be a farmer, subject to the approval of the respective officials . Hope it helps .
