Hydroponics with hydrogel - New innovation in hydroponics

Dear all,

I just came across this splendid technology while exploring internet.
Using hydragel in hydroponics bed. A substance having exceptional water absorption capacity which absorbs nutrients at its fullest compared to traditional hydroponics.
Attached datasheet outlines how it works.
Would like to know its viability in india.
Will appreciate your feedback.

please go through the thread PUSA HYDROGEL.it is something similar

Hello Dixitji,

Well, this technology has been initiated in Japan by their scientists, but I had one recommendation from forum member stating Pusa Hydrogel located in Delhi. You may contact them for further details. However, so far as I’m concerned, the molecular structure of hydro gel might play vital role in this. The same has been patented by those Japanese scientists. I dont see any big deal in hydrogel since its easily available in India. What one ought to do is experiment with it. I can be reached on 09712004344. Update me if you’re proceeding on this front.

Hydroponics is a technique of growing plants using only mineral supplement solutions, in water, without soil. Plants might be grown with their roots in the mineral solution only, or in a dormant/ inert medium. Hydrogel mixed with hydroponics media reduces the water stress. For fully permeable mixes like barks, wood fiber, etc., 2 - 3 kgs of ALSTA HYDROGEL® per m3 of the substrate is mixed. For less permeable ones like peat or composts, 1 - 2 kgs of ALSTA HYDROGEL® per m3 of the substrate is mixed.

Hi Vijayms

Did you follow up and use this product? Please let me know how fantastic it was and where can I obtain Hydragel?

Kind regards

Chris
