Has anyone grown or is willing to grow Mushrooms in Karnataka, preferably around Sagara and Shimoga? Would like to share your experience and/or collaborate in growing them.
I am trying to setup mushroom farm around hyderabad ,
- Mushroom as a vegetable is yet to find regular place among the Indian consumers
- Mushrooms are perishable and delicate in nature, these cannot be kept afresh for more than 24 hrs . After the maturing of the fruiting body, the deterioration starts with the formation of brown colouration and hence the quality deterioration and loss of marketability. 3.Seasonal growers are facing the market gluts in December and January months resulting in distressed selling of button mushroom crop . So , do basic market survey first , before starting mushroom farming .
