Growing capsicum in polyhouse - my experience

Hey Vertical,
the gun looks pretty cool. but then there are factors like where will i tie the plants to?
if its a string i am currently using, the ribbon would slip and does no good to me.

i love what Aman had posted initially, and very interested in using them.

AMAN!! WORK OUT A GOOD SOURCE QUICK !!

Vivek

At times i have nothing to do on the farm, so its just me and my pet monkeying around.

love my dog… hes really stupid, just like me… but hes a sweetheart ;D

i had got him when we started the project. so hes been with me since day one.
then i have few guns, for security as well as entertainment. then lots of kites… a RC professional level chopper.

My farm is a fun place for me…

My friend stays in Shanghai, China. One more friend stays in Hong Kong. We can get anything sourced from there or else even get the rates and source from there.

please share the pics of support system that you have made and how you plan to operate it ?
operate it as in, are you gonna appoint labour to tie the plant with the main string using gunny thread every 15 days or are you gonna pull the plants up once they grow taller ?

please share, m too confused with the support system right now.

And about those hooks, m working it out. just not getting good rates anywhere, will have to source it from outside i guess. lets see…. no worries… m on it.

but seriously viks, HELP HELP HELp with the support system man ……… how really is a capsicum plant supported ? how does it grow really ? tomatoes or cucumber, everything has got its own growing phenomenon.

Viks… I have gone over all the posts made by you and many others. In an Aquaponics system, which is quite new to India, I do not use chemical nutrients for plant growth.

Aquaponics is really a very simple sustaining system, and we think it is the simplicity of ā€œthe fish provide the food for the plants, the plants clean/filter the water, and it is returned to the fish tanksā€, it all occurs with only a 7% loss of water which is due to evaporation. In my mind, the logic mimics what Mother Nature does and she is very eager to do something that is so good for our environment as well as feeding our bodies with clean, healthy fresh fish and vegetables.

Would you like to try a small Aquaponic system in your Capsicum adventures and to make it 100% organic produce? Let me know what you think Viks.

Hey NARDC,

can you plz give more details? like what crop you are growing, what fish variety you have ?

the question that comes to my mind is what is the nutrient value of the fish waste? does it have all the primary and secondary nutrients which are required by the crop and that too in the desired quantity?

and i would sure love to try a small aquaponic system for capsicum and few other crops.
finally, can the produce grown in aquaponics be 100% organic ?

plz share your practises for pesticides and fertigation, and pictures will help a lot as well.

150 DAYS YOUNG PLANTS

long time no update.
the fungal attack is under control now. majority plants are 5 feet tall. few are short.

most of the plants which are on the sides are short in height as compared to the ones in the middle. thats normal, so nothing to worry about that.

had fungal problems since almost a month or so. finally things are looking good.
the old infestation is all burned, a little is under development, but i am not worried about it anymore as it will get covered in my future pesticides.

i have used a lot of Orthosolicic Acid in my sprays recently (once in 10 days)
now i am going to use my final card, and i am saying hello to Karathane & M-45 and say ba bye to the mildew for good. buhuhaha! 3:)

Picture - 1 - the fresh white mildew is turning pale yellow and getting burned.
Picture - 2 - the new clean 3 feet canopy for better air movement.
Picture - 3 - new shoots on plants are amazing. fruits are getting developed, flowers are there, and so are the little buds. cant even count how many are there.
Picture - 4 - damage caused by the mildew. the infected plants lost lot of leaves. the plants are bald, can clearly see the fruits now.

during the past week, there was so much mess (mildew infected leaves which got shaded) so had to get it cleaned on daily basis.

so things are back on track. luckily no harm or damage was done to the production.

Vivek

why things so slow? :astonished:

ok… so what now ?

what do u guys think?

  • is liquid NPK better or solid ?
  • when should NPK be taken as foiler spray, and when should it be given via drip ?

Vivek

hey Chandra,
there was some post from a friend of yours related to the neem oil and organic confusion i am into.
cant find it :frowning:
