Flood from top into our low lying land - how to do fence?

When it rains there is huge flood into my land from the higher lands especially at one end of our rectangular shaped land. Now I need to do fencing of my land, however to mitigate flood effect I also have to do a trench at the top boundary but if do trench my fence post will be after the trench. I don’t like having trench outside the fencing. Any better solutions for this problem?
Appreciate your response/suggestions…

If you don’t want to excavate any trench beside your compound wall then you can this of constructing a pond with non woven geotextile lining by adopting injectionwell method by driving a borewell within the lake.
This will solve your issues as well as can utilise these water later for your agriculture or domestic needs usage.
But the process is costlier .,

Thanks sir for response, to be honest my limited understanding I didn’t truly understand the solution but let me also explore Google based on your suggestion. Appreciate your help on this!

You could move the trench a bit inside your land, so that you can utilize the land between the trench and fence to plant some trees.
A couple of large cement pipes can be laid at the points where the water enters your land, to connect to your trench.

  1. Does the water come from a narrow passage or the entire boundary on the higher lands?
  2. Do you have soil erosion due to rains and huge flood?
  3. If fencing is what you are interested in, you can have the trench after the fencing at least 3-4 ft away. Use the excavated soil from the trench to create a mound on the downside of the trench. This way, your fence will not be affected.

I am trying to understand what other problems you are facing due to huge floods rather than the fencing part.
