Yes, I practice succession planting, and it’s one of the best ways I’ve found to keep the garden productive throughout the season. My approach starts with knowing the maturity dates of each crop. I group vegetables into fast, medium, and slow growers, then stagger plantings based on those timelines. For example, I sow quick crops like lettuce, radishes, and spinach every 2–3 weeks, while longer crops like beans or carrots get replanted once the earlier batch is halfway to harvest. I also plan my beds so that when one crop finishes, another is ready to go in—usually something heat-tolerant after spring greens, or fall crops after summer harvests. Keeping a simple calendar and tracking what worked in previous years helps me maximize yield and avoid gaps in production.
