Dear Friends, pls guide me on how to go about cultivating dehraduni basmati in the rainfed,paddy growing areas of Belgaum district in Karnataka.At present iam growing the local variety,‘Belgaum basmati’ in my land.Does this dehraduni basmati require any spl.preparation of soil or seed treatment etc.?Presently, i sow the seeds by the plough-line after the preparation of the soil.Kindly come back on this info.THANX-all of you.

Many people of failed to get original qulities of Dehradu veriety in Karnataka. You can try your luck.
There are few local vrieties of Basmati is available if you want seeds contact sahaja Samrudha or Ethnic seed collector Sri.Ghanikhan, Mysore.( i will give contact if you need)
