Borewell: remove water smell

Reg Borewell water smelling recently my borewell motor stopped working motor replaced with new one after replacing getting water is smelling but water is pure no mud and all pls suggest me how to remove smell

Is it an oily smell? It coud be cos the pump is new. Just run it for a considerable period and the smell will go away. If smell is of stagnant water, incorporate some quantity of alum in borewell. Difficult to quote an exact quantity. Incorporate in borewell and let water stand for about 5-6 hours. See if the smell reduces when water is next drawn. If successful, repeat the cycle.
