Hi,

I would like to start banana cultivation on commercial scale on about 2 acres of land in eastern region of Uttar Pradesh.

Please share me some knowledge on this .

What kind of soil ? water availability and other details please.

If there’s good enough water through out the year and there’s good demand for the kind of bananas you are going to be growing go for it. Otherwise please evaluate. Banana prices crashed last year and almost yet to recover. So think and proceed.

Banana is a Universal Fruit. Sufficient Water should be Provided throughout the Year. But there should not be water logging. For getting Good Market for Banana one should plan the Harvesting Period from September to January end. Because you are going for a Small extent of 2 Acres there will not be any problem for Marketing locally in UP.You go for G-9 Veriety of Tissue culture Banana to have GOOD Market and Profitability.
