New to agriculture. I am all set for land development, and recently finished planting border trees. It’s 7-acre land, and we plan to develop in stages. In the first stage, we are planning for arecanut integrated farming in around 2 acre. Arecanut, Fruits(Banana, Papaya, guava etc) is the option we are considering. Kindly suggest me the sequence- Should we plant both together or one by one, which one to be planted first as arecanut needs shelter when its a baby plant.
Alos the best season to start- its still raining here.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, congratulations on your farming journey. Can you please share what plants did you choose as border trees and the spacing between them, where did you procure them from and at what cost?. Thankyou
Thanks. Our farm receives ample wind as its a bit elevated land. Hence, I chose wind breakers. Hebbevu, Sarve Mara, Mahaghani are being planted now. Planning for Bamboo in next phase. We also have Glycedia in between which were planted earlier by seller. Bought it from Horticulture dept for 6-10Rs a plant. Some outsourced from local nursery for same price. mahaghani needs min of 16ft space between. We have kept 8ft from plant to plant - Hebbevu, Sarve Mara, Mahaghani alternatively
