Another item which I had seen in net is kind of fruit/vegetable which vendor told that is common here and Maharashtra.
I used to sold as raw is green and boiled is black shaped. I tasted the boiled felt good. Can any one write further information about it?

it is called as shingada or singhada in maharshtra . You can get its powder also which is consumed during fasting .
