What different species are fully suitable for planting them together? I’m interested in growing several types of plants during the same season, to maximize what I can get from all acreage.

You’re definitely looking for intercropping practice but it mostly depends on the land you’re using, climate, usual plants your farm produces etc. I suggest you at least read “Intercropping and the Scientific Basis of Traditional Agriculture” by Donald Innis, it includes traditional intercropping in Jamaica, Nepal and India. You can find that book on the web and read it for free. There are also tons of online guides about this, but the right guide depends on the species you’re already used to plant.
