One of the worst problems I have seen having Rice bags (yearly stock) was to take care of the worms and the tedious job of getting it cleaned and reloading them into bags.
Was thinking about what could be the organic testing solution that can help a year long rice grains or pulses.

Back here, we use Vasambu/Acorus Calamus roots to preserve rice. Not sure about pulses though.

Getting dehusking of rice only for required quantity will help. Rice stored with husk will not attract much insects. Mill as and when required. Neem leaves are effective up to some extent.
