i have 2 acres land in Ammapettai, Thanjavur, Tamilnadu. this land is located on the bank of the river and soil type is Alluviual(vandal).we have bore well water so no water problem.i have already planted around 450 trees( mix of Gmelina Arabora(kumil),Melia dubia(malai vembu) and Maghony) with the spaceing of 10x10 feet per acre. it is now three months old trees.
Now i want to convert this in to subash Palker’s five Layer farming. is there any specific suitable model for our area i.e cavery delta region tamil nadu. i dont see anybody following this model in our area. can you gentlemen please specify particular tree or plant types.
i plan to plant tall coconut trees as the first layer means 33 cocount trees per acre as i have seen coconut trees are growing good in our other paddy field borders.can i keep the trees( mix of Gmelina Arabora(kumil),Melia dubia(malai vembu) and Maghony) which were already planted as second layer replacement of Areca nut?
