Guinea fowl wanted for snake control

Hi Hari,

Do you have any further updates on how the birds are doing and their benefits? How do you protect them from dogs and other predators?

I wish I could have some eggs to try them out.

I also heard that these hens multiply like anything and take care of snakes and quite tastey as well. I would also like to have them in my farm but dont have a 24x7 care taker :frowning:

They become very alert when they spot anything new the surroundings. Our birds used to nest on the trees and they are OK even if there is no 24x7 care taker. They are tasty and lay good number of eggs.

But unfortunately most of our birds fell prey for dogs. These birds won’t try to escape from dogs instead they try to stand against them.
