Azolla for paddy

I am reading and video on net regarding Azolla.

Is it really feasible and duable in paddy field?

Is this available in the market or

Do it by preparing a pit in the field itself?

Commercailly available? Ready to spread it over the field??

Any positive benefits reaped any member - liked or suggested ??

Thanks

It is a good nitrogen fixer. It is feasible. Around 1 kg used in bits that is around 50 grams in each plot i.e bifircation would grow on its own.

Azolla - buy in the market as powder

and sprinkle in the farm

Or

As shown on video

Create a pond let it grow first before sprinkling

Please advice

Get the Azolla Seeds from the market and use it for growing either in the pond or paddy field.

Every now and then does overly grown azolla needed to be picked up from the paddy field ?

will it go too much overly since it grow faster?

Thanks

Hi

Contact your local Agriculture Director. They will have information where you can get Azolla.

Cheers

Varma

If azolla grows faster, it can be fed to cattle and even the chicks tend to like it over a period of time. If you have excess of it even after feeding it to the cattle, it can be resold.
